It carries good oxygen and moisture without drying down too quickly, which suits species that resent both compaction and a media that swings dry between waterings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUse it as a base on its own or blended with finer peat, coco, or your chosen aeration inputs to open up a heavier mix. Like all peatmoss it sits naturally acidic, so buffer with a liming agent such as oyster lime, wollastonite, or gypsum to reach your target pH.
