Description

Hemp Seed Meal is a protein-rich, plant-derived nitrogen amendment left over after cold-pressing hemp seed for oil. It carries a gentle NPK of 5-1.5-1 alongside a broad spread of secondary and trace minerals — magnesium, calcium, sulfur, iron and zinc among them — making it a complete, vegan feed for the vegetative phase. Because that nitrogen is held in protein rather than mineral salts, it releases slowly as soil microbes break it down, feeding plants steadily over weeks with none of the burn risk of synthetic nitrogen.

Beyond feeding the plant, hemp seed meal feeds the soil. The fatty acids left behind after pressing make it an especially rich food source for microbes and fungi — a slow-burning energy input that keeps the soil food web active. It's a favourite of earthworms and a solid carbon-and-nitrogen source too, and it's been observed to hold back some pathogenic soil microbes as the biology shifts in its favour. That makes it well suited to living-soil and no-till systems — building a fresh mix, top-dressing an established bed, or recharging used soil between cycles.

Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Sulfur, Iron, Zinc

Drives vegetative growth with slow-release nitrogen, plus feeds soil biology and builds long-term fertility.

Mix around 12–18 g per 5 L of soil when building your mix. A protein-rich, slow-release amendment; work in at the start of a cycle.

Soil people, same as you.

Soil Supply Co. started because we got sick of paying premiums for inputs that under-delivered. If we wouldn't put it in our own soil, it's not on the shelf.
