Description

Palagonite is a unique rock mineral derived from an ancient volcanic deposit, characterised by its high cation exchange capacity (CEC) — meaning it can hold and buffer a large number of nutrients in the soil. It also contains a wide range of trace minerals, making it a valuable addition to any soil blend and a key component alongside other rock mineral inputs like Azomite and volcanic ash.

The benefits are broad: palagonite improves soil structure and drainage, holds and buffers nutrients, provides a wide range of trace minerals, detoxifies and balances the soil, improves water retention, and supports the growth of beneficial microbes. Compared to basalt, it offers faster mineral release with less pH buffering effect, making it more versatile in mixes where you don't want to shift pH significantly.

Trace Minerals, Silica

Provides trace minerals (faster release than basalt, less pH buffering), plus silica, and stimulates soil biology.

Mix 10–35 g per 5 L of soil when building your mix. A basaltic rock dust and primary remineraliser — it only needs to be added once per build.

Soil people, same as you.

Soil Supply Co. started because we got sick of paying premiums for inputs that under-delivered. If we wouldn't put it in our own soil, it's not on the shelf.
